nice retro

I liked that even though the enviroment is huge it's actually really hard to get lost due to the mechanics of the game.

It did always feel like there were supposed to be encounters somewhere but I never found them.

Yes there is supposed to be an encounter.

Hey thanks for playing my game! The monster is supposed to be stopping you from entering the cave until you have all the torches in the forest but it seems like he bugged out. At least you did see him once though, some people went through the entire thing without seeing him once.

Very clever and well-polished game, especially considering how quickly it was made. Post-jam patch really ups the ante and makes the game a lot more enjoyable, atmospheric, and less exploitable.

Dev is an extremely cool and helpful lad as well.

c

good game its really enjoyable

please check out my channel

Hey I checked your video out and I noticed that you went straight for the cave. There's supposed to be a monster guarding that entrance until you get all the torches in the forest area, but it seems like that didn't work as intended and so you missed a major portion of the game.

Thanks for making a video about it though, I appreciate it!

Cool project. The mechanic of lighting the torches worked well, and the game legitimately spooked me from time to time. I also appreciated how it played with my expectations from time to time (especially in the cave, with the rock positioned right next to the torch). The ending was surprising (of course, once I reread the name of the game, much less surprising). I had a lot of fun with this. The mouse and joystick sensitivity was set to zero when the game started up for me, so you might want to adjust the starting sensitivity.

Is the game finished and needs no more updates?

No game is ever finished. But I am done updating this. It was fun working on it during the weekend, and I did fix some of the major problems with post-jam patches. But I'm not planning on continuing this. But look out for future projects that are in the works.

Well I played the most recent version, but I can't seem to look around at all

What's that, Aoba?

Yes. I don't know what happened to my previous message. But there are mouse sensitivity settings, try changing those if you can't look around

Ah, thanks, I really should've tried that before asking. But anyway, I like it a lot, not bad at all and the ending scared the crap out of me : ). But if you're looking to improve the game, you should make the monster more of a threat, because you can outrun it easily and I played though it once, without seeing him at all.

You might be playing an older version. I recently uploaded a patch which makes the monster a little bit more aggressive, so you're much more likely to run into him.
